Late spring in Washington, D.C. is simply a beautiful time. The temperatures are starting to rise, the grass seems even greener, and the light – it’s bright, yet soft, and it creates some of the most beautiful settings at each and every wedding. Grant and Rachel’s wedding day could not have been more perfect!

For years, Rachel and Grant were simply friends. They confided in each other, they loved spending time together, but that was where they both drew the line. Then they realized maybe they were meant to be more than friends. It was their story of two friends who got married on June 4, 2016 that I was honored to plan alongside a fabulous mother & daughter  combo!

Rachel and her bridesmaids spent the morning prepping at the W Hotel. And, it’s also where she and Grant shared an emotional first look followed by some of the most stunning portraits, captured by Abby Grace Photography. As you will see below, it was difficult to choose just a few favorites from this part of their day! Her bridesmaids wore blush, while the gentlemen wore classic black tuxedos. And the timeless bouquets and boutonnieres designs by EDGE Flowers were gorgeous – as always!

R+G opted to host both their ceremony and reception at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center. Their ceremony was held outside, and we opted to angle the seating in a way the venue had not done before to achieve more of a soft, greenery background – what, lines with the large soft pink and ivory rose arrangements really transformed the space. Post ceremony, the newly married couple hosted their cocktail hour on the terrace before heading inside for their dinner reception – a perfect transition!

Rachel and Grant’s wedding day was filled with such beautiful style, thoughtful speeches, and a FUN dance floor – believe me when I say it, because the pictures don’t even do their flash mob justice! It’s safe to say theirs was a night I hoped wouldn’t end, which is why I’m so overjoyed to share their wedding photos by Abby Grace Photography with you!
