While I was rebranding Caroline Dutton Events, I realized how much I love reading other’s blogs where they share a few of their favorite things. I feel like I get to know the blogger or business owner on a much more personal level, and I knew I wanted to bring that same experience to my own website.
I’ve been dreaming of starting this series for months, and I’m thrilled to introduce my own favorites to you in the very first post of many! Each week, I’ll be sharing items from my ever-growing wish list (J. Crew is one of my go-to stores!), wedding details I think you may love as much as I do, D.C. events that sound like the best place to be on the weekend, and much more. Keep reading below for this week’s Caroline’s Classics!
Classically Preppy Wedding Dress: If you have yet to find your dream wedding dress or you would much rather buy off the rack, I cannot suggest this Kamparett wedding dress from LOHO Bride. It’s classic, and I love the pop of navy (my favorite color!). Plus, LOHO stands for “League of her own”, which should describe each and every bride.
Have-to-Have Accessory: These J. Crew tassel earrings are the perfect accessory for your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or even your wedding day! Not to mention, they are a piece you will wear for years after your wedding events, and your bridesmaids will love them too. (Side note: I have them in light blue already…I’m thinking of adding these to my collection!)
A Gift for the Mr. & Mrs.: I am so lucky to call Jamie Kutchman one of my friends, and I am obsessed with her company, Marigold & Grey. She designs custom gifts for weddings and events, and she also has a wonderful selection of pre-designed gifts. This Happily Ever After set would be perfect for a newly married couple or a pair celebrating their anniversary!
Striped Shoes, Please!: Be still my heart! There are few things more classic than a fabulous pair of striped shoes, and this pair by Vince Camuto promises to make the best kind of statement. I would dress these up or down, and I LOVE that they’re affordable.
Dream Destination: The Hamilton Princess just underwent a $100 million renovation, which means now would be a perfect time to plan a destination wedding to this Bermuda resort. My bags are packed, and I’m ready to design and plan one beautiful wedding! The views alone are enough to inspire an entire day, and you should definitely plan to stay for your honeymoon.
Weekend Plans: This weekend is supposed to be beautiful, and the HStreetFestival would be a great event to attend tomorrow! The festival is completely outdoors with vendors, food, music, and more. The best part? It’s free, and it sounds incredible.
What are your current favorites? I would love to hear! What do you want to see more of?
